Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator is a member of our leadership team that shapes and shares SFU350’s public voice through coordination of strategic and mission-aligned communications.

  • Open to: SFU undergraduate students. Graduate students are still welcome to join our general membership

  • Length: At least 1 year commitment (3 consecutive semesters), until graduation at maximum

  • Time commitment: ~4 hours per week

  • Campus: Burnaby (hybrid/remote meetings when applicable)

  • Start Date: September 22, or as soon as possible.

    • Develop and implement communications strategies in line with our mission and campaigns

    • Manage all SFU350's communication channels (Email, Website, Instagram)

    • Track engagement and adjust strategies to reach more students and supporters

    • Create graphic and written (both digital and print) materials to promote events, actions, and campaigns, including:

      • Social media posts

      • Newsletters

      • Press Releases

    • Maintain consistent branding and messaging across platforms

  • Relevant experience is preferred but not required.

    • Experience with social media management, content creation, or design tools

      • Experience with Canva, Adobe CC, Google Suite, and SquareSpace preferred

    • Experience in communications/marketing for student groups, campaigns, or clubs

    • Have a knack for storytelling

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
